Looking for a few good cooks

We all have fond memories of eating with our sisters on Monday nights. Many of us know that good sisterhood develops as we gather and eat together. Unfortunately, due to lack of sufficient funding, the Gamma Upsilon chapter only has one dinner together each month.

Alums Ann McCarty and Carole Jones have cooked one meal a year for the last three years and served it to a very grateful group of collegians. While there is work involved in preparing the meal, all of the clean up is done by the chapter and the cooks get to go home!

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the girls and they truly appreciate everything alums do for the chapter,” said Ann.

Ann is looking for additional volunteers to provide a meal at your convenience during the current school year. This might be a good excuse for you to contact your former classmates to assist in preparing a meal or simply provide a cash donation to sponsor a meal, which is always appreciated. The Wichita alumnae chapter supports the Gamma Upsilon chapter at the Wichita State University in a number of ways. Alumnae make up the advisory team and help with recruitment or just lend a helping hand when needed. Several collegiate/alumnae events are held each year. Alumnae sit on the House Corporation board which maintains the Gamma Upsilon chapter house. Alumnae interested in working with collegians on either House Corporation or the Advisory Management Team are always needed and welcomed with open arms.
